UPDATED GREEN WASTE COLLECTION GUIDELINES
                            Organic Waste Pick-up
         New weekly limit
beginning September 1, 2023

Starting September 1, 2023 the limit for organic waste will be changed to 1 kitchen waste container and a maximum of three bags of yard waste per week. (If you do not put out your kitchen/food waste container, you will still be limited to a maximum of 3 bags of yard waste).

Bowen Waste staff are experiencing repetitive strain injuries from the sheer quantity of yard waste picked up each week. Reducing the quantity of waste bags will keep the staff healthy. The staff lift the bags and bins over shoulder height into a truck.

You can help keep the staff stay healthy by:
  • Keeping bags and bins below 40lbs
  • No sod, rocks or soil
  • Keep lids on bins, to prevent rain water accumulation
  • No branches sticking out of bins or bags
